Edited by: David Caldera on 02/02/2007 15:37:05 Wow...what a mature thread. Yet another go at a group of players. Whether you like them or not, resorting to this behaviour and these threads makes all of you look just as immature as you claim the "carebears" to be. -_-

Hey, I have nothing against carebears. I simply consider them at the bottom of the food chain.
I don't hate carebears... Does a lion hates gazelle?
A lion wouldn't go complain about the fact that Gazelles have speed (Nerf their speed!) and eat Grass (OMG, boring! No hunt at all!). And they certainly wouldn't go and waste their time by making Gazelles ridiculous.

Was that supposed to be an insult? If you answered "yes" to that question, you suck at insults and just proved my point. Thank you.

Because your panties are in a bunch, you didn't get an obvious joke, and your corp has 'industries' in the name.
Now get back to the veldspar!
So not getting "obvious jokes" is a sign of being a carebear? Not everybody understands the same humour or speaks English for that matter. And the surname Industries in my corp name does not mean Industry is the only thing it does, or the only thing *I* do for that matter. Good job.
Originally by: Wild Lorenz The only difference is that real lions and real gazelles don't whine in the forums.
Exactly. Considering how many whines there have been lately against every single kind of player out there in masses, you can't people not to be a little hostile nowadays. That's exactly the reason why I reacted to this thread like that. Because it just seems like another go at a group of players.

Carebears are made up of various mindsets. One of those mindsets are people who get offended by labels. As such I'm willing to bet you are a carebear.
Its only offensive if you make yourself feel offended. Carebears were about being nice to each other, helping each other out and selling plush toys to children. Take out the plush toys and being a carebear isn't such a bad thing in itself.
I'm saying I'm not the kind of "carebear" that solely does activities that rely on "no risk at all". Which if I look around the forum seems to be the impression of every player that is called a carebear. It *is* a label. I was also saying that some of your arguments such as not getting obvious jokes seem a bit unrelated to being a carebear in my eyes.
Originally by: Herculite So perhaps the question for the carebears of EvE isn't what would be a more PC name for them, but why being called a carebear is so offensive.
Just look at the forum. =/ So many threads are blaming all "carebears" for nerfs, not adapting so that their (the whiners against carebears in this case) playstyle is easier, etc. And since, as I implied, carebears are a group of players that are too big and different to put under the norm "Alt" or "No Risk Takers", I don't think I'm solely speaking for myself if I say it's getting quite annoying. Which is why I reacted to this thread like I did.
Okay, it's a joke, I get it now. I shouldn't have reacted like I did, I admit that.
